Manufactured homes maintenance is apparently a responsibility. It is a task that should be done to keep a sturdy and energy efficient manufactured home longer. But who are the responsible persons in this task?

Manufactured Home Owner

The sole person who is responsible for manufactured homes maintenance is their owners. It is the owner’s job to maintain his house so it will live up to its durability and performance. Doing the necessary maintenance activities for a manufactures home should be done periodically to avoid early damage of a portion or even the entire home.

A home owner must regularly check and clean the roof, windows, gutters, interior walls, heating systems, floor, foundations and other features of the house. Plumbing and electrical systems should also be in the checklist when doing monthly home maintenance checkup. Often disregarded by home owners, appliances should also be checked and evaluated when doing home maintenance. Doing so prevents the likelihood of home issues such as moldings and damage to the foundations.

Manufactured homes maintenance also includes minor repairs. Home owners who have the knowledge on how to repair minor damages found in the house should do the repairs themselves. Most general contractors include doing minor repairs in their warranty; but often, major repairs are within its scope. If there is a major damage, which the owner can’t mend by himself, he must call a professional to do it.
